CULTURAL BRANDING
asian american film festival
The Asian American Film Festival celebrated diversity and multicultural appreciation of the Asian and Asian American experience through cultural events.
Created in June 2005 as a 501(c) 3 nonprofit media arts organization, the goals include educating communities about Asian and Asian American history, culture, experiences and issues, fostering understanding across lines of race, ethnicity, religion, age, and region, and sustaining growth and encouraging excellence in Asian American culture.
In 2016, we were asked to rebrand this staple of the Pittsburgh cultural scene. The Film Festival was 10-days long and showcased films from India, Japan, China, Turkey, Lebanon, South Korea, Iraq, Philippines, and Iran. The marketing collateral for this 13 year-running festival changed annually with new themes and creative directions, always staying culturally relevant. Tickets, program books, website graphics, season posters, and trailers were among some of the key touch points that were updated yearly with the new festival theme.
